The Marsh Hens
Behind the Men’s Golf Club, Callawassie Island’s Women’s Club is the longest established club on the island. Initially starting off as “The Marsh Hens”, the initial purpose of the club was to help all of the new female residents of Callawassie Island learn more about the area and to meet one another. Though the group has changed throughout its 30 years, a focus on volunteer outreach and fellowship remains. This group meets once a month from September to May for socializing, educative programs or entertainment, and delicious food. Participation is flexible within this group, with each Women’s Club member able to choose her own desired level of involvement.
